The licence is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-commercial.
BALL user licence
Personal licence to download, print, assemble and play BALL, including restrictions on distribution and commercial use.
Reasonable copies may be printed for household use and private play with family or friends.
The ZIP/PDF may not be shared, published or resold, and printed components may not be sold.
Copyright and all other intellectual-property rights remain with Luis Adriano Martínez Naval.
The version accepted at checkout governs the purchase.
1. Ownership
Luis Adriano Martínez Naval retains all intellectual-property rights in BALL, including its rules, text, expressive systems, graphics, illustrations, designs, cards, boards, pieces, boxes, marks, files and code, without prejudice to any lawfully used third-party elements.
The purchase is a licence to use, not a sale or assignment of copyright.
2. Licence grant
Following valid payment, the buyer receives a personal, limited, revocable for material breach, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and non-commercial licence to:
- download the purchased edition and language within the access limits;
- keep a reasonable private backup on devices under the buyer’s control;
- print copies reasonably required for personal or household use, directly or through a professional shop that prints only for the buyer and deletes the files when finished;
- cut, assemble and use those components;
- play privately with family, friends or household members.
3. Unauthorised uses
Without the rights owner’s written permission, the following are prohibited:
- sharing, sending, lending, publishing, uploading, hosting or making the ZIP, PDF or any file available, even free of charge;
- reselling, renting, sublicensing, gifting or transferring the licence or private link;
- printing or manufacturing components for sale, rental, commercial prizes, subscriptions, third-party print services or distribution; this does not prohibit the strictly personal printing permitted in section 2;
- charging for access to BALL copies, recurring commercial events or promotional-product use;
- translating, adapting, redrawing, extracting assets, or distributing derivative works, public expansions or digital versions;
- removing authorship notices, marks, metadata or access controls;
- using the files as a training dataset, mass-extraction input or material to generate substitute products through artificial-intelligence systems;
- circumventing download limits, sharing tokens or accessing another person’s order.
Private study of rules, personal formations and legitimate criticism or review remain permitted within the law, provided files or a substantial reproducible part of the product are not published.
4. Clubs, classrooms, events and businesses
This licence does not cover institutional copies, libraries, schools, game cafés, clubs, paid tournaments, commercial demonstrations, shops or professional services. Those uses require a specific written licence. A licensed person may bring their own copy to a private non-commercial game, provided files or permanent copies are not given to others.
Institutional copies, libraries, educational centres, game libraries, clubs with permanent copies, paid tournaments, commercial demonstrations, shops, professional services and additional copies require prior written authorisation from Melanny Quirama Valladares or Luis Adriano Martínez Naval.
5. Photos, videos and fan content
Users may publish their own photos or videos of printed and assembled components, reviews and play sessions, provided the publication does not allow useful reconstruction or download of the files, does not reveal complete rulebook pages or cards at reproducible resolution, respects marks and does not imply endorsement.
Player-created commentary, strategies and formations remain the player’s. BALL’s pre-existing system, design and assets are not transferred by their use in such content.
6. Card Lab and experimental results
Card Lab authorises personal use to create, test, print and export experimental cards. Selling them, distributing official files, training artificial-intelligence systems with the materials or generating substitute products is prohibited.
By accepting the conditions before exporting or printing, the user assigns to Luis Adriano Martínez Naval, to the maximum extent permitted and by written electronic acceptance, the transferable economic rights over the specific selection and wording generated with the tool for possible incorporation into BALL. Where the assignment is invalid or insufficient, the user grants an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable and royalty-free licence. Non-transferable moral rights remain intact.
7. Backup and security
A backup must remain private and under the buyer’s control. Cloud services may be used only as private storage without public links or third-party access. The buyer must protect credentials and remove copies from devices that are transferred or sold.
8. Termination
The licence ends automatically upon an uncured material breach, fraud, redistribution or unauthorised commercial exploitation. The owner may block links or access associated with the breach and require cessation, deletion of copies and any remedy lawfully available. On termination, the user must stop use and delete files and copies, without prejudice to available claims. Suspension or termination does not remove mandatory consumer rights or prevent a good-faith challenge.
9. Reserved rights and permissions
Every use not expressly granted is reserved. Special permissions must be in writing and define scope, territory, duration and consideration. Delay in enforcing a breach is not a waiver.
