Recommended components
Board, team pieces, ball markers, one-shot cards, action reference and energy counters.
BALL is designed so the printable format is not a lesser version, but a direct way to access the complete tactical system.
Board, team pieces, ball markers, one-shot cards, action reference and energy counters.
Use substantial paper or light cardstock. Keep contrast high and avoid shrinking the cards too much to preserve legibility.
Before starting, separate the pieces by team, keep PE counters visible and place the action reference within reach. Remember: in energy mode, 1 unused PA may be converted into 1 PE during the action phase.
The design prioritises contrast, shapes and quick reading. If you laminate components, use a matte finish to prevent glare.
Sleeves, cardstock or lamination can extend the material’s lifespan without changing the tactical experience.
Play the first rounds without trying to exploit every combo. First learn routes, blocking, passing and action economy.
The download includes the rulebook, two alternative 50 × 70 cm boards, five teams with 35 pieces, four balls, 14 cards, optional boxes, a play sheet and an assembly guide.
You may print the A4 sheet and the cards, improvise pieces and learn online while preparing the rest. A match uses one board, two teams of seven pieces and one ball.
The recommended option is to print the 50 × 70 cm board at a copy shop. It may also be tiled for home printing if your printer and software support it.
Card stock, sleeves, ballast, adhesive and wooden cubes improve durability and handling, but they are not part of the download and are not essential. The filling may be replaced with another suitable material.
The print-and-play format lets you choose how much work to invest in assembly. A functional version can be prepared with few elements; a refined version may include boxes, reinforced pieces and one or both board designs. Photographs in the BALL gallery show real assembled components.
Before printing, review the rulebook and the FAQ section. When ready, you can download BALL in the selected language.
